Dr. Lorenzo Guiducci

Dr. Lorenzo Guiducci promovierte in Physik, Wissenschaft der Biomaterialien, an der Universität Potsdam mit der von ihm am MPI für Kolloid- und Grenzflächenforschung durchgeführten Forschung. Dabei untersuchte er das mechanische Auslösen von Saatkapseln von Pflanzen und ganz allgemein von zellulären Feststoffen, die unter Innendruck stehen.
Als Postdoc am Exzellenzcluster »Bild Wissen Gestaltung« übernahm er Aufgaben in der interdisziplinären Forschung und Lehre. Seine Forschungsinteressen konzentrierten sich auf den Zusammenhang zwischen lokalem Wachstum und globaler Faltung planarer starrer Strukturen sowie zwischen lokaler Zusammensetzung und globalem Stressabbau bei funktional abgestuften Materialien.
Im Projekt Material Form Function will er Struktur-Funktionsbeziehungen sowohl in biologischen Rollenmodellen als auch in mechanischen Metamaterialien mit Hilfe von Engineering-Tools (FE-Simulationen und -Modellierung) und Designmethoden unter Einbeziehung traditioneller Fertigungsverfahren (z.B. Weben) untersuchen.
