Dr. Michael Friedman

Micheal Friedman ist Senior Lecturer am Cohn Institute For History And Philosophy of Science And Ideas an der Tel Aviv University.
Als Mathematiker, Mathematikhistoriker und Philosoph, liegt der Schwerpunkt seines Interesses als Associated Investigator für die Projete Symbolic Material und Weaving auf der Interaktion von materiellem, visuellem und symbolischem Wissen.
Derzeit untersucht er die vielfältigen Traditionen und materiellen Praktiken (Falten, Flechten, Weben, Knoten sowie 3D-Modelle) der Mathematik des 19., 20. und 21. Jahrhunderts. In diesem Zusammenhang erforscht er, inwiefern diese Praktiken symbolisch-mathematisches Wissen antrieben. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt deiner Forschung sind die verschiedenen wissenschaftlichen Instrumente, die mathematisches Wissen nicht nur visualisieren sondern auch ermöglichen.
