Johanna Hehemeyer-Cürten

Johanna Hehemeyer-Cürten is a fashion- and material designer with a strong interest in biomaterials and material innovation.
Having a background in the fields of fashion and textile design, fine arts and dance she developed an artistic approach towards research and form working across the disciplines.
She studied at the Maastricht Institute of Arts and the weissensee school of art and design Berlin. She graduated with a master in fashion design in 2021. As a Pre-Doctoral Researcher in the project Material, Form, Function and in the research group »Adaptive Fibrous Materials« at the MPI for Colloids and Interfaces she develops sustainable design strategies for tree bark with a focus on folding techniques.
