Spread Masks not the Virus
Support the Initiative @we_can_stop_corona
Since March 23rd the @we_can_stop_corona initiative by MoA PI Regine Hengge worked to convince people and politicians that we all should wear face masks in public space to reduce the spread of SARS-CoV-2. Wearing a simple mask – even a DIY mask as the one designed for @we_can_stop_corona, since medical masks are in short supply and should be reserved for hospitals – reduces the spread of virus-containing droplets potentially given off by people who don´t even know that they are infected because they never develop symptoms or do so later only. In parallel, several other initiatives have been campaigning with the same goal for example @maskoncollective, which is an initiative by PI Carola Zwick with DesignFarmBerlin. Fortunately, many politicians finally adopted the approach and some states are making face masks even mandatory.
