3. Processing of personal data is limited to the following objectives:
- Quality assurance and fulfilment of the Cluster’s reporting obligations to its funding bodies;
- Publications of research results in accordance with the Berlin Higher Education Act;
- Documentation and visibility of the Cluster's scientific activities, especially to the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation, DFG) and the public;
- Provision of information for the Cluster’s annual reports, its website and the Scientific Advisory Board;
- reparation of an application renewal for the Cluster through the DFG.
4. Legal basis of data processing:
- Employment contract in conjunction with § 18 BlnDSG, in conjunction with §§ 26, 32 to 37, 41,43 and 44 BDSG
- Item 12 of the Application Guidelines/Terms and Conditions for grant agreements with the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation, DFG) on Clusters of Excellence as part of the Excellence Initiative of the federal and state funding lines
- § 6 paragraph 3, 4, 6 Regulations of the Cluster of Excellence »Matters of Activity«
- § 6 paragraph 1 No. 4 and § 41 BerlHG
- § 6 paragraph 1 a) GDPR: Consent (voluntary publication of relevant research activities on the Cluster)
5. Data (excluding gender) will be visible to anyone, as research reports will be published. Insofar as data is published on the Cluster's website on the basis of consent, it will also be visible to anyone.
6. Data on the information platform will be stored until the end of the Cluster’s reporting obligations to the DFG.
7. Every person affected by processing of personal data has the right, within the legal limits, to request information or confirmation, free of charge, of personal data stored about his or her person from the above-mentioned responsible body. In addition, he or she has the right to demand immediate correction of inaccurate personal data, or its deletion, processing restriction, or objection to processing.
8. Consent to the processing of personal data, including consent for rendition of the data on the Cluster website, may be revoked at any time by notifying moa.research.support@hu-berlin.de, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of consent until revocation. There is a right to obtain data which was provided by affected persons in a structured, machine-readable common format and to transmit said data to other responsible parties.
9. In addition, irrespective of other administrative or legal remedies, complaints may be lodged at a regulatory authority when the lawfulness of processing of personal data relating to their person is in doubt

§ 6 Members' Rights and Obligations
(3) Members are obliged to cooperate with and actively support Cluster goals and tasks according to § 2 as well as the Cluster administration according to the regulations.
(4) Members are required to submit regular reports to the Clusters' Executive Board, the HU and the DFG. They shall also participate in any necessary application motions. In the event of withdrawal or resignation, members must document their research carried out within the framework of the Cluster within a period to be determined by the directors.
(6) Members are obliged to comply with the DFG Guidelines for the Use of Funding within the Excellence Strategy, i.e. rules for publications, economic use, reporting obligations and good scientific practice.
