Prof. Anna Kubelík
Prof. Anna Kubelík studied at Chelsea College of Art & Design and completed her architecture diploma at the Architectural Association in London. She gained practical experience in several architectural offices in London, Rome and Berlin before increasingly dedicating herself to her own artistic practice. Her interdisciplinary approach leads to collaborations with composers, choreographers, authors and scientists. Kubelík has received numerous awards i.e., Akademie Schloss Solitude and Villa Massimo, the German Academy in Rome.
Her medium and format as well as the dimension of her projects is always determined by the context and thus ranges from drawing to kinetic sculpture or from film to installation or performance. Her practice combines scientific phenomena, such as climate or particle physics, with musical or narrative sound.
Kubelík's project »Well-Tempered Hygrometer« was presented as part of the exhibition »Stretching Materialities« in 2021-22 at the Tieranatomisches Theater. This exhibition linked Kubelík's artistic work with the research project »Object Space Agency« through the mediation of Prof. Dr. Claudia Blümle.
Anna Kubelík currently holds a professorship for »artistic experimental representation and design« at the architecture faculty of the HTWG Konstanz, University of Applied Sciences.
