Prof. Dr. Sebastian Nordmann

Sebastian Nordmann studied Musicology and Modern History at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität in Heidelberg and later continued at the Freie Universität Berlin and at the Technische Universität Berlin.

He completed his study with a PhD on »The Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival’s Influence on the Musical Landscape of Schleswig-Holstein«. From October 2002 until December 2008, he was the Director of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festspiele. In July 2008, Sebastian Nordmann was named Professor for Music Management/ Career Planning at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Rostock.

Sebastian Nordmann has been the Director of Konzerthaus Berlin and Konzerthausorchester Berlin since September 2009. Since spring 2016 he has been Artistic Director of the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Conservatory Competition.
