Prof. Carlos-Andres Palma
Carlos-Andres Palma is Professor of Physics at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and leads a Joint Lab at IRIS Adlershof, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
His group develops tools in low-temperature scanning probe microscopy, mass spectrometry, photoemission microscopy, nanofabrication and molecular dynamics, to contribute to the physics and devices of molecule-based dynamic matter on surfaces and at the nanoscale.
He works on vibrational topology alongside the Filtering team, laying the foundation for thermal diode and filter design. Project synergies relate to thermodynamic computing, topological phononics and dynamics, nanographene and nanodiamond superconductivity, supramolecular heterostructures, and novel microscopies, supported by the NSCF, CAS, the AvH Foundation, the DFG and industrial partners.
