Sara R. Yazdani, PhD
Sara R. Yazdani is an art historian and art critic and was a visiting scholar at Matters of Activity in 2021. Her fields of research and teaching are modern and contemporary art with a particular focus on the relationship between art, media, technologies, theory of the Anthropocene, media ecologies, and process philosophy.
In 2021 she taught at the University of the Arts, London, in 2016 she was a Visiting Scholar at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, between 2016 and 2019 she was co-leader of the research group Media Aesthetics at the University of Oslo.
Her work is published in Art Journal, Afterimage (forthcoming), Artforum, Mousse Magazine, Kunstkritikk, Art & Education, as well as in a number of academic anthologies and exhibition catalogs.
She is currently working on her first monograph, »Self-Sufficient Images«, a critical history of Wolfgang Tillmans’ oeuvre and the reemergence of an ecological approach to visual art.
