On Design(ers), Anthropology and Multimodal Ambivalences

In the workshop »On Design(ers), Anthropology and Multimodal Ambivalences« Imad Gebrayel and Yoonha Kim, unraveled their experiences kneading together design and anthropology at the Central Laboratory of Matters of Activity. In conversation, they explored the realities, potentials and challenges within the mutual fascination between the two fields. This public event prompted open discussions, asking: how can design researchers and anthropologists not only engage with each other's methods but also the critical discourses within each discipline? How can multimodal approaches shake hierarchies and priorities within institutional structures and suggest diverse ways of staying with the trouble?
