Peter Fratzl Chairs Symposium within International Fraunhofer Conference on Programmable Materials

From July 12th-14th, 2022, the International Conference on Programmable Materials, organized by the Fraunhofer Cluster of Excellence Programmable Materials takes place as a hybrid event in Berlin at the Fraunhofer-Forum. MoA Director Peter Fratzl will chair together with Alexander Böker (Fraunhofer IAP) the symposium »Design Ideas from Nature«. The symposium with talks by MoA members Christiane Sauer and Richard Weinkamer, will focus on various examples from nature, including the design principles and detailed understanding of their programmed functions as well as the mimicking of these natural functions by purely synthetic materials. We are very pleased to have Achim Menges as our guest for a talk in the Talking Matters series in the cluster, following his participation as a speaker at the symposium in the afternoon.
