Field/Works: Anthropology & Art Talks
Series Curated by Cluster Member Maxime Le Calvé
For anthropologists and artists »doing fieldwork« in contemporary worlds, art can be much more than an object of investigation. Curation and creation through visual, audio, or performing arts are at the heart of their work, extending the established anthropological interest in writing as a medium of thought and knowledge sharing. The exhibition »Field/Works« presented works by anthropologists and artists who broke disciplinary boundaries, and whose practice foregrounded experimental, and open approaches to the theme »field/works«.
This series was curated by Jen Clarke and CLuster Member Maxime Le Calvé and intended to provide a new space for discussion around and across our shared domains of interest. They were very happy to announce a new series of monthly events around the works and their makers. Among others the Cluster members Natalija Miodragovic (25 March 2021) and Yoonha Kim (15 April 2021) talked about their work.
Cluster members were invited to attend and to contribute. They were able to participate in particular talks with a short paper (5 minutes) that resonated with the topic or with the artwork presented in that talk.
