Let's Get:PHYSICAL
Interactive Exhibition of the Project »Coding IxD« Runs until 23 February
Unconsciously or consciously, we record our routines, for example by using a pedometer, marking our favorite places in the city, or monitoring our electricity and water consumption. How can this personal data be made tangible? This is the question that students from the Department of Computer Science at Freie Universität Berlin and the Department of Product Design at the weißensee school of art and design have been exploring together as part of the interdisciplinary course »Coding IxD.« Since 2015, Coding IxD has been an annually recurring project in cooperation between the Human-Centered Computing research group led by Claudia Müller-Birn (Freie Universität Berlin) and the Embodied Interaction group led by Carola Zwick and Judith Glaser (weißensee school of art and design berlin).
Under the approach of »data physicalization,« six exhibits have been developed that link physical and digital interaction. The aim is to promote users' understanding of personal data and thereby enable more informed action.
The results of the project are presented in an interactive exhibition at CityLAB Berlin from February 16th - 23rd between 11 am and 5 pm.
If you would like to take advantage of the opportunity to get an exclusive glimpse of the students' project results, don't miss the opening night on February 15th from 6-9 pm, everyone is welcome to come together at CityLAB and get in touch with students.
