Assal Daneshgar
Assal Daneshgar is a physician–scientist in Experimental Surgery, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. After receiving a joint MD–PhD degree from Charité, she began her surgical residency at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and became a fellow of the Junior Clinician–Scientist Program at the Berlin Institute of Health.
As a bioengineer, Assal’s work focuses on fabricating bioactive and programmable materials that can serve as functional matrices in surgical applications. By studying natural matrices, she and her team develop technologies to engineer smart biomaterials inspired by natural systems. Working at the intersection of biology, engineering, and design, she aims to translate emerging regenerative technologies from the laboratory into therapeutic reality.
