Elaine Bonavia
Elaine Bonavia is an Artistic Associate at weissensee school of art and design berlin and practice-based PhD Candidate. She teaches courses on digital design and fabrication and MoA Design Research studio projects within the Textile and Material Department also related to Weaving.
She studied architectural design research in Stuttgart where she graduated with a Master in 2019. In 2022, she was involved in the realisation of the installation Syntopia I - soma | body for the exhibition DAOULA Sheen. This work explored how wearable AR technology can be used for digitizing and informing craft processes at an architectural scale.
Her PhD research explores spatial drawing and movement practice can become part of design processes. Her focus is on the potential of the digital drawing as an artefact that expresses an interaction with space and material.
