Inaugural Lecture of Prof. Orit Halpern at TU Dresden

The Emerging Field Societal Change at Technische Universität Dresden was delighted to invite to the inaugural lecture of Prof. Orit Halpern, followed by a reception.

Prof. Orit Halpern is member of MoA’s Scientific Advisory Board and was recently appointed to the Chair of Digital Culture at TU Dresden. In her presentation titled »The Smartness Mandate: Re-imagining our Technological Future«, which took place in the Schönfeld auditorium (Helmholtzstraße 18, 01069 Dresden) on October 13, 2022 at 4:40 pm and also was accessible via livestream, she presented her contribution to research, transfer and society in an easily understandable way. The talk historically and ethnographically situated the new mandate of a smart environment and discuss how the humanities and sciences can develop technologies that engage planetary scale problems in more ethical, just, and diverse ways. The presentation was held in English.
