Dr. Mason Dean

Mason Dean ist Biologe in der Abteilung für Biomaterialien am Max-Planck-Institut für Kolloid- und Grenzflächenforschung mit Abschlüssen in Meeresbiologie und Zoologie und einem starken Interesse an »Form-Funktion«-Beziehungen, also der Frage, wie die Anatomie eines Tieres Wechselwirkungen mit seiner Umwelt gestaltet.
Seine aktuelle Arbeit an der Struktur, Mechanik und Materialität von Fischknochen und Knorpel erlaubt es ihm, seinen Background in Zoologie und Vergleichender Anatomie mit seinem Interesse an Illustration und 3D-Digitalvisualisierung zu kombinieren.
Er ist Associate Investigator im Projekt Material Form Function und arbeitet eng mit John Nyakatura und anderen zusammen im Setting »Tesselated Materials Systems«.
